Annual Safety Program
National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) guidelines now require an annual burner safety examination!
Pyronics Services Inc. offers an economical program to assure the continuous safe operation of your combustion equipment and compliance to NFPA. We utilize the following 17-point checklist to ensure a safer, more efficient and reliable combustion system. Our program produces a detailed field service report that documents burner settings, switch settings, operating temperatures, safety results, and recommendations.
The steps include:
- Visual inspection of all components to ensure:
- everything is installed as it should be, and
- accumulated dust and dirt has not impaired the operation of burner integrals, air and gas piping, filters and strainers, among other element.
- Simulate air failure to prove Combustion Air Switch.
- Simulate low gas pressure to prove Low Gas Pressure Switch.
- Simulate high gas pressure to prove High Gas Pressure Switch.
- Simulate excessive temperature to prove High Temperature Limit Switch.
- Simulate flame failure to prove Flame Safeguard.
- Simulate circulation air failure to prove Circulation Air Switch.
- Simulate exhaust air failure to prove Exhaust Switch.
- Simulate any other switch or interlock installed in your system in order to prove its proper working order. (These switches include but are not limited to Lowfire Start Switches, High Fire Purge Switches, Low Water Float Switches, Door Switches, Speed Switches, etc.)
- Test all safety shutoff valves for leaks.
- Test all manual gas cocks for proper operation.
- Inspect electrical contacts for dirt and signs of wear.
- Check Pilot and Burner pressures for proper settings and adjust if necessary.
- Clean the igniter.
- Clean the flame rod/UV Scanner/IR Scanner.
- Test the process controller to verify that it takes the burner from lowfire to highfire.
- Test all mechanical fastening hardware for tightness.
